Jeremy Gould
Head of Internet Communication
Ministry of Justice
Jeremy is a civil servant at the UK Ministry of Justice with responsibility for digital media strategy. He leads a team of web professionals managing a portfolio of websites, developing customer-centric online communication propositions, and using social media tools to encourage online engagement.
Jeremy's focus is encouraging the community of web professionals in and around Whitehall to network, self-organise, and collaborate together with one purpose in mind: improving how government conducts itself online. This includes organising the first UK government barcamp for digital media experts, which was held at Google in January 2008, and a regular series of informal networking 'teacamps'.
In 2007 Jeremy assisted the Cabinet Office in producing a review on the opportunities presented by social media for government communication.
Prior to joining the civil service, Jeremy's worked on web 'stuff' in wider public sector, corporate, and agency environments.
